It’s an exciting time here at PokerSpy as we are seeing our user numbers start to grow. It’s been ten days since the launch of PokerSpy for iPhone and we’re are starting to see some good growth and steady posters in the Las Vegas and Atlantic City markets. We’ve also seen some activity in LA and some of the smaller poker markets in the country, such as Arizona, Colorado and Ohio.
We’ve met a few users in the poker rooms so far and have introduced the app to many more players during our live poker sessions. These players are loving PokerSpy and giving us good feedback. We’ve also received a number of room suggestions that weren’t included in the app originally and have since been added. Thanks to those users for doing so.
We’re are focused on growing our user base slowly but steadily in these early days until version 2.0 is released in the upcoming months. Trust us when we say that version 2.0 is going to be awesome. There will be so many new features that will keep users coming back to the app over and over again.
We’d like thank all of our original spies for signing up and using PokerSpy during these early days and we plan on making your PokerSpy experience so much better in the future.

Yesterday Matt and I had the pleasure of doing an interview on the internet radio site High Roller Radio. It was an enjoyable experience and we are grateful to Derrick Oliver at HHR for the opportunity to spread the word about PokerSpy and to discuss poker apps in general.
Feel free to give it a listen.

PokerSpy has been in the iPhone App Store for a few days now and we are approaching 100 individual users. We are happy with that number after just a few days since nobody really knows about us…but obviously we are looking forward to the coming weeks when our users increase dramatically.
In the meantime, the PokerSpy Team encourages all of you to post as liberally as you can in these early days to help grow this community and make it a better place for everyone. The more content we all provide, the more users we generate, the better the PokerSpy community will be.
It would also be very helpful if you report any bugs to us. I’ve noticed a couple already that we are going to work on fixing this week. You can report bugs or give any other kind of feedback thru the app under the Settings page. Also, if your favorite poker room is not on our list just let us know…either thru the same feedback link in Settings or the Suggest A Room link in each individual city’s page in the Select A Room area of the app.
We at PokerSpy thank you all so much for your participation in the infancy of our community. We look forward to growing and evolving with all of you over time.
Thank you and good luck on the felt.

I just got off the phone with Brian, (@mukthenuts), and after working out the final kinks in Beta testing, we have submitted the PokerSpy App to Apple! This is great news. I have been testing the app for about a week now and it is going to be great for poker players around the United States and the World. The App should be ready in about a week in the App Store for the IPhone. Remember, it is totally free!!
As a side note, the WSOP didn’t end on the greatest of notes for me. I have to admit I played extremely well for 4 straight weeks with a minor hiccup here and there. I wish my deep runs could have been more successful, but thats the nature of tournament poker. I am going to be on vacation for a bit but look forward to heading back to the cash games and grinding out a living.
Good luck everyone,
Nick from PokerSpy Team
My friend Matt and I were at the Wynn poker room one night a few months back. The action was particularly quiet that evening. I had picked up with a small profit but still was itching to play. I went over to Matt’s table to see how he was doing. His game was pretty nitty and he was ready to go somewhere else as well.
I asked him where would he like to go next. He said something like “Maybe Venetian or Aria, or somewhere new.” I responded with something like “I wouldn’t mind someplace different”. Then he says “I wish I could just check my phone and to see where there’s good action.”
With that statement PokerSpy was born. It dawned on us that there weren’t any apps out there that provide that sort of content. Sure, there are useful apps that let you know how many games are running and the number of players on the waiting list, but no app gives you true insight into what’s happening in the room.
We decided this would be a useful app for any poker player. You can check where the games are good (or bad) anywhere in your area…or around the world right from your phone. We also wanted the app to be like it’s own little social network just for poker players. Players provide updates about the action in the rooms they are in but also anything else they want to share with fellow PokerSpy users. Whether you’re a professional grinder or just a recreational player looking for some action, PokerSpy will be of use to you. AND IT’S COMPLETELY FREE!!!
The app will be out soon and we will be doing some exciting giveaways during this year’s WSOP, so check back here for updates. PokerSpy is currently only for iPhone…look for the Android version in the coming months.
Feel free to say hi if you see this ugly face at the WSOP or any other Las Vegas casino this summer.
Best of luck to everyone at the tables. See you all soon.
